All About CrossFit
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A CONVENTIONAL GYM AND CROSSFIT:
There are no mirrors at Crossfit; your ego is left at the door. You will not use your cellphone, because there won’t be any time to look at it. There are no TV screens; you will only see the white board.
In a CrossFit box, even floors and walls are part of the workout. You will throw a ball to the wall, use free weights as they are used in weightlifting, and the floor will be your best friend after a workout.
You will never see a weight training machine at a Crossfit gym. We train our body as a whole and it makes no sense to workout splitting it up. We do not have weight training machines, you are the machine.
You will never get bored; everyday there is a different WOD (Workout Of the Day) that may last for 4-5 minutes up to 20, 30 or 60 minutes.) This is why we will never call them routines. At a conventional gym you would repeat the same workout routine for 2, 3, or even 6 months.
You will work out with your own body weight in ways you never thought you could. You will jump, lift, pull, hit and push all kinds of objects. You will work out harder, faster and heavier than ever. You will suffer, but you will love it.
CrossFit aims to improve everybody’s VITALITY, it is not only about physical appearance, it is about being able to perform everyday tasks, from carrying your children four floors up without losing your breath, moving furniture without getting your back injured, playing sports with more resistance to impress your friends, and all kinds of daily activities.
